Food shopping just got a little more exciting! After five years of construction, the Markthal Rotterdam finally held its opening ceremony last week. The massive horse shoe-shaped structure designed by architectures at MVRDV and developed by Provast combines both housing and market space. One side is a housing building with 228 apartments and the other is an indoor market hall with 100 fresh produce units, 15 food shops, 8 restaurants, and a cooking school. And if that’s not enough, it’s situated right next to the largest outdoor market of the Netherlands at the Binnenrotte.
You’d Never Guess What This Building Is At First Glance. When I Found Out I Was Even More Surprised.
