This Couple Quit Their 9 To 5’s To Travel The World.

Just a year ago, Danika and Chris Garlotta decided to quit their 9 to 5 office jobs and travel abroad for 6 months. They wanted to see the world, but knew it was impossible to do it with their busy work schedules. Chris worked for a tech company as a graphic designer and Danika was the head of marketing for a group of hotels.
They sold all of their furniture and most of their possessions, and rented out their home. They didn’t have to save money for their trip because they both are able to freelance from abroad. Danika works for social media and online marketing clients, and Chris still works for tech companies.
Danika and Chris now earn 40% of what they were earning, but the cost of living is cheaper. Chris explained, “ Having clients in San Francisco, I’m billing San Francisco rates, but in Berlin, rent is 20% of the cost of rent in California. In Indonesia, dinner is $2 a person.”
They are now almost a year into their trip and don’t have any plans on returning anytime soon. You can follow them and see more photos of their adventures on Instagram and their website, No Destinations.
The couple rents apartments on Airbnb instead of hotels to save money.
